HONOUR FOR ASIATIKA , ASIATIC SOCIETY PUBLICATION

HONOUR FOR ASIATIC SOCIETY PUBLICATION
As Society members may remember, in 2004, during the Bi-Centenary year of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai, heritage walks were conducted in the Asiatic Society and various outreach events were held under the project ASIATIKA .
Subsequently the ASIATIKA team brought out a collection of 21 essays with black and white photographs titled ZERO POINT BOMBAY: IN AND AROUND HORNIMAN CIRCLE.
Edited by Kamala Ganesh, Usha Thakkar and Gita Chadha and published by Roli Books in 2008, the book was released at the Society at a function on May 8, 2008 by Deepak Parekh. The editors had made over the royalty rights to the Asiatic Society.
Now there is a piece of good news. This book has been included in the list of 10 best books set in Mumbai by the London based newspaper GUARDIAN.
Details can be found in the under mentioned link.
